The Country Trivet series turns geography into functional design, with each piece shaped like a country and detailed with internal regional patterns. Cast in polished aluminum, it combines durability, protection, and a subtle, globally inspired aesthetic.

Description

The Country Trivet series is a collection of functional art pieces that celebrate global geography through minimalist design. Each trivet is shaped to reflect the iconic outline of a country, with intricate inner patterns mapping out its internal states or regions. This layered structure not only enhances the recognisability of the country but also provides exceptional structural strength and stability.

Packaging: Marking the Geographic Center of the Country

Cast in high-quality polished aluminum, each piece is designed for longevity and everyday utility. To ensure the safety of your dining surfaces, the underside of each trivet features subtle rounded knobs; these elevate the piece, protecting your table from heat damage while allowing for faster cooling of hot pots and pans. From the sweeping borders of the USA to the distinct shapes of France, China, or Germany, these trivets are precision-engineered to endure years of kitchen use.

As a sophisticated marketing detail, each trivet is discreetly engraved with the country’s central geographical coordinates rather than its name. This subtle, intellectual design choice gives each piece a modern, understated aesthetic, making it as much a conversation starter as it is a practical kitchen tool. Whether for a proud local or a world traveler, theCountry Trivet is a refined way to bring a sense of global identity into the heart of the home.

About

Luca

Artistic Approach
My work explores the space between control and intuition. I’m drawn to contrasts - structure and chaos, clarity and abstraction - and I use them to create pieces that invite interpretation rather than dictate it. Color plays a central role in my practice, often used boldly and in layered compositions to evoke emotion and depth. Each work is less about a fixed message and more about opening a dialogue between the viewer and the image.
Background & Perspective
I move fluidly between art and design, which strongly shapes how I think and create. While my artistic work is driven by expression and emotion, my background in design sharpens my sense for composition, balance, and intention. This dual perspective allows me to approach each piece with both freedom and precision.
Original Works & Prints
All artworks originate from my own practice and are carefully translated into high-quality prints to make them accessible beyond the original piece. Whether original or print, each work is created with the same attention to detail and respect for material, aiming to bring a distinct atmosphere into the spaces they inhabit.

Design Philosophy
My approach to design is rooted in clarity, intention, and purpose. I see design as a way of transforming ideas into tangible solutions - where form, function, and meaning are carefully aligned. Each object is shaped not only by aesthetics, but by how it is experienced and used.
Process & Perspective
Coming from an artistic background, I bring an intuitive and exploratory mindset into my design process. I often begin with open-ended experimentation, then refine ideas through structure and precision. This balance allows me to create designs that feel both thoughtful and distinctive.
Objects & Experience
I create objects that aim to integrate naturally into their environment while still carrying a subtle, defining presence. Materials, proportions, and details are considered carefully to achieve a sense of coherence and longevity - designs that are not only functional, but quietly expressive.
