The Planetary Desk Lamp is a sculptural lighting object developed from the design language of the AVEM lamp. Its tall conical marble body is available in either a white or black hollowed stone finish, giving the piece two distinct expressions: a lighter, more refined version and a darker, more atmospheric one. The lamp is anchored by a custom brass base plate, which also houses the power connection and allows the stone body to rotate 360°, letting you subtly adjust the direction of the light.
At the top of the cone, two brass rods extend in different directions, creating the impression of a single line passing through the stone and emerging at two points. Each end carries a spherical light element composed of brass and opal glass, with the glass covering two thirds of the sphere so the light can glow softly through it. The upper, longer arm is oriented downward and serves as a focused desk light, while the shorter lower arm points upward and acts as a room light that casts illumination into the surrounding space.

A small recessed brass button sits discreetly in a rounded cavity at the tip of the cone. It controls the lamp through four states: the first click activates the desk light, the second adds the room light, the third switches off the desk light while leaving the room light on, and the fourth turns the entire lamp off. A subtle integrated accent light near the button adds a quiet glow when one or both light sources are active, reinforcing the lamp’s planetary character.
The name Planetary Desk Lamp reflects the way the two illuminated ends orbit the central stone body like separate celestial objects, each following its own path around a shared core. The result is a balanced design that combines precision, symbolism, and functional versatility in one elegant object.
